No matter what time of year you are planning your visit, Kapolei is hot year-round. Luckily, the city has gorgeous beaches and plenty of activities to keep you cool. Here are some of the top Kapolei activities to beat the heat, and still have a great time.
Visit One of Our Beautiful Beaches
Paradise Cove Public Beach
This small, hidden cove is a secret spot among many of the locals. The cove makes the water flat and shallow, so it is easy for swimming and snorkeling. This spot is also known for its sea turtle population; however, the parking lot is very small and fills up fast.
Kahe Point Beach Park
This beach is known for its snorkeling because of its crystal-clear waters and abundance of fish. The spot is also popular for scuba divers, and many of the local dive shops use this beach for training, so you will see them getting their gear ready on the beach. Kahe Point Beach is located just north of the Ko Olina Resorts.
Ko Olina Beach Park
Ko Olina Beach Park is made up of four sapphire-colored lagoons covering an area of more than 600 acres. The lagoons are manmade, and each has a perfect white sand beach for soaking up the sun. The shape of the lagoon protects beachgoers from large waves, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There is public parking from sunrise to sunset, and each lagoon has a restroom, but there is no lifeguard on duty. The lagoons are connected by two miles of seaside paths.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii
Hawaii’s only water park, Wet n Wild Hawaii, located in Kapolei, has 25 rides and attractions, including their 4-person waterslide, the O-Hana Highway. The water park also has a lazy river, miniature golf, and a kids’ area with slides and interactive water activities. If you get hungry, the park has a cafe and food carts. There is also a bar where those over 21 years of age can sit and enjoy a cocktail or cold beer and watch sports on one of the bars TVs.
Ka Makana Ali‘i
If you are looking for a way to stay cool indoors, check out Ka Makana Ali‘i, a shopping mall with more than 100 stores, restaurants, and a movie theater. Every Wednesday and Sunday, the mall sets up a farmers’ market featuring local fruits and veggies, handmade goods, prepared foods, and flowers. The farmers’ market also has a band playing Hawaiian music and hula performers.
