Kono’s Restaurant

For 15 years Kono’s Restaurant has been the epitome of island-style, casual Hawaiian dining. Friendly staff and the succulent aroma of slow-roasted Kalua pork welcome visitors to this laidback eatery that exudes a fun, surf-oriented atmosphere at each of its three locations across O‘ahu (with a fourth, the Surfing Pig, coming soon to Kaimuki). Each features Kono’s award-winning Hawaiian cuisine, from their breakfast bombers to hearty sandwiches to mouth-watering plate lunches. So whether your travels take you to their locations on the North Shore, Waikīkī, or Kailua, stop in for a quick bite, a healthy smoothie, or a fast and healthy meal featuring the iconic flavors of Hawai‘i in each and every bite.

Breakfast Bombers at Kono’s Restauarant

We can think of no better way to start your day than a loaded breakfast from Kono’s, one of our favorite restaurants in Honolulu Hawaii. The perfect fuel for surfing, hiking, or exploring, these hearty breakfasts feature eggs, potatoes, and warm cheese in fresh tortillas with your choice of fixings. Choose from the slow-roasted pulled pork, bacon, Portuguese sausage, or fresh tomatoes, onions, and peppers, then add on your favorites like avocado, sour cream, or spicy jalapenos. Our other breakfast favorites include Kono’s delicious biscuits and gravy and the BEACH sandwich.

Wraps, Sandwiches, and Refreshments (Oh My!)

Sure, Kono’s Restaurant has a long menu list of delicious sandwiches, plate lunches, and freshly prepared lemonades. But the real star of the menu here is the delicious, tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork. For our money, there is nothing better than the Triple Crown, a sandwich of pork slow cooked for 12 hours and served with guava BBQ, ham, bacon, cheese, and slaw on a toasted French Roll. If you prefer your pork another way, try the plate lunch, the Pig on Grass salad (with delicious papaya dressing), or the Kalua Pig Nachos. Pair your lunch selection with a handmade milkshake like Kono’s Mud Pie or the Lava Flow and watch your troubles just melt away. This is a vacation, after all.

Kono’s also features fresh brewed coffee, fresh lemonades and limeades, and healthy smoothies if you want to keep it light. Check out all three of their locations, open every day from 7am ‘til close (2:30pm in Haleiwa, 6:30pm on Kapahulu in Waikīkī, and 8pm in Kailua).
