In the town of Kapolei on the island of Oahu, you can find the famed natural beauty of Hawaii along with some bustling communities. This is often where people go to enjoy the best of both worlds, where you can always find seclusion or a party. Kapolei is famous for its hiking and beach activities, but there is much more to fall in love with here. The following are three gems in Kapolei that the Oahu guidebook does not talk about.

Ko Olina Beach Park

Just a few miles away from Kapolei on the island’s west coast, you will find this beach park that you cannot miss while in Oahu. The park is marked by palm trees swaying in the wind, clear blue waters, and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beauty. You will also find a manmade lagoon providing for cool and peaceful water, perfect for a relaxing day under the sun. Find this must-visit attraction at 92-100 Waipahe Pl.

Coral Crater Adventure Park

If you are looking for a day of action and unique fun, then this hidden gem cannot be missed! Nestled in a secluded and beautiful part of Kapolei, you will first find joy in the incredible aesthetic. Then you will find joy in the activities. One of the main events here is the 25-mph zip line that propels you safely through the tree canopy, but you can also find ATV courses, aerial obstacle courses, enormous swings, bungee jumping, rock walls, and so much more. Find endless fun at 91-1780 Midway St.

Nimitz Beach

There is no shortage of great beaches you can find in a Oahu guidebook, but it can be tough to find a beach all to yourself. Nimitz Beach is your best bet for finding your very own slice of heaven, as there are rarely any people here. This is the perfect place to go for a day with the family as parking is very easy, you can find picnic tables, great stretches of soft, sandy beaches, and frequent tide pools. You can find it just south of Kapolei along Coral Sea Rd.

Visit One of Our Beautiful Beaches

Paradise Cove Public Beach

This small, hidden cove is a secret spot among many of the locals. The cove makes the water flat and shallow, so it is easy for swimming and snorkeling. This spot is also known for its sea turtle population; however, the parking lot is very small and fills up fast.

Kahe Point Beach Park

This beach is known for its snorkeling because of its crystal-clear waters and abundance of fish. The spot is also popular for scuba divers, and many of the local dive shops use this beach for training, so you will see them getting their gear ready on the beach. Kahe Point Beach is located just north of the Ko Olina Resorts.

Ko Olina Beach Park

Ko Olina Beach Park is made up of four sapphire-colored lagoons covering an area of more than 600 acres. The lagoons are manmade, and each has a perfect white sand beach for soaking up the sun. The shape of the lagoon protects beachgoers from large waves, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There is public parking from sunrise to sunset, and each lagoon has a restroom, but there is no lifeguard on duty. The lagoons are connected by two miles of seaside paths.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii

Hawaii’s only water park, Wet n Wild Hawaii, located in Kapolei, has 25 rides and attractions, including their 4-person waterslide, the O-Hana Highway. The water park also has a lazy river, miniature golf, and a kids’ area with slides and interactive water activities. If you get hungry, the park has a cafe and food carts. There is also a bar where those over 21 years of age can sit and enjoy a cocktail or cold beer and watch sports on one of the bars TVs.

Ka Makana Ali‘i

If you are looking for a way to stay cool indoors, check out Ka Makana Ali‘i, a shopping mall with more than 100 stores, restaurants, and a movie theater. Every Wednesday and Sunday, the mall sets up a farmers’ market featuring local fruits and veggies, handmade goods, prepared foods, and flowers. The farmers’ market also has a band playing Hawaiian music and hula performers.
